I'm making Time for a Cuppa
By the time you've made your brew, another person will have developed dementia. I'm going to bake, brew and raise vital funds for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £21 could pay for the telephone costs of four families calling our free Helpline whenever they need support. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support. I am really grateful for any support you can give.
Thank you!

My Why… My Vinnie 🩵
Thursday 30th AprIf you ask anyone in my family who the cheekiest one is, they’ll all say the same name… my Granda.
He was diagnosed with dementia back in 2015, and while that word can feel heavy, it doesn’t define him. Not even close. To me, he’s still the same man with the voice of an angel… and a whistle that could stop you in your tracks. Music has always lived in him, and I truly believe that’s where my own love for performing and the arts began.
He’s my inspiration. My Vincetti. My G-dog. My granda.
Growing up, I watched him and my gorgeous little Nanna love each other in a way that just felt… real. Effortless, loyal, full of laughter and little moments. They showed me that true love actually exists - not the fairytale version, but the kind that stands the test of time, through everything life throws at you. That’s something I’ll carry with me forever.
Dementia has changed parts of our journey as a family, of course it has. There are moments that are hard, moments that don’t make sense, and moments you wish you could hold onto a little tighter. But there are still so many moments of him. His humour. His warmth. His spark.
And the fact he’s still here, still going strong into his 90s, is something I’m endlessly grateful for.
That’s why I’m taking part in Time for a Cuppa - to raise awareness, to support others going through similar journeys, and to give back in some small way to a cause that’s so close to my heart.
Because behind every diagnosis, there’s a person. A story. A lifetime of memories, love, and impact.
So this one’s for you, granda.
Always. 🩵
