Walk 50 Miles in January 2026

I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK

This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Thursday 1st Jan

I’m so grateful to everyone who has donated and supported my 50-mile walk this January. Thanks to you, I’ve already reached my first fundraising target, and it truly means more than I can say.

Today I begin the journey by walking my first mile in Tenerife

Every Mile for those we love

Sunday 28th Dec

This January, I’m challenging myself to walk 50 miles in support of Dementia UK — a cause that is very close to my heart.

We lost my gramp to dementia in 2012 and seeing how this illness slowly takes so much from a person, and from the people who love them, is something that never leaves you. More recently, my mother-in-law is now living with dementia, and watching her and our family go through this journey has really highlighted just how important the right support is.

Dementia doesn’t just affect one person — it impacts entire families. Dementia UK does incredible work supporting people living with dementia and the carers who look after them, and I wanted to do something positive in their honour.

I’ll be fitting my 50 miles into everyday life throughout January, one walk at a time. Some days will be easier than others, but every mile will be walked with love, remembrance, and hope.

Thank you so much to everyone who supports, encourages, or donates — it truly means more than I can say.
