I'm walking 30 miles in September

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

How we ended up doing 7 miles instead of 4!!😂

Monday 8th Sep

On Friday the 5th, last week, me and my friend Violet decided we would do a 5k together, (A.K.A) 3.1 miles. So I left at 5:15 and started my tracker, she left at 20 past, and all together we met at 5:35 in the gissons meadow. We took a lap around the field and thought of some routes. Then we started the process. We went up past the pub, followed the path and crossed a couple roads, until we got to the road that had no path. We walked up for about 3.05 miles until we reached the Turf Locks car park. (Bare in mind) none of us had done this route before  that’s how it ended up in chaos! She said she was sure it went round in a loop and came out by the Berrybrook garage, so we carried on.  At first we asked this kind man how long did he think it would take to get back to Exminster from where we were. He said he wasn’t sure of that way only the way back! So we carried on not thinking anything was wrong, then about  15-20 minutes later  we asked this sweet couple the same question. They replied with something in the words of “That ways going to take you a long time, I would go that way, if it was me I would turn back and go the way you came.” At this point if we carried on for another 10 minutes we could’ve ended up in Dawlish!! So obviously we turned back, as it was getting quite late and I was worried about getting stuck in the dark. I phoned my dad and asked him to check my location and see how long it would take us to get back, he was glad we turned back as he couldn’t have picked us up from there!  So we walked back to turf car park and got picked up from there to beat the dark. We also want to give credits to the amazing doggies walking this far:  Rolling Roley and Wonderful Willow ❤️

Thankyou Violet for taking this amazing journey with me I’ll do it again anytime maybe where we know where we’re going though and not as long 😂

Thanks for reading 😊
