I'm walking 30 miles in September

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

I’m pleased to say that I’ve completed the challenge. I walked £52 miles and raised £702.

22 miles down!

Thursday 11th Sep
It’s the 11th today and I’ve somehow managed 22 miles so far!  I’m quite chuffed with that!  
Plenty of time to do plenty more miles. It’s quite refreshing getting out on a purposeful walk, the woods are lovely and peaceful and taking Teddy for a walk is really relaxing, just the sounds of the forest and your own thoughts - something I realise  is a blessing as for those with dementia their thoughts can cause so much distress and heartache. 
But hopefully my small contribution,  thanks to your support and donations, will help the cause to fight against Dementia.

Why I'm getting off my backside!

Thursday 7th Aug
I lost my wonderful Grandad to Dementia in 2016 and it’s a cruel disease, watching someone change so much and be so confused about what’s going on around them is heartbreaking. 
I’ve decided this year to join this charity challenge to help raise awareness and funds for Dementia UK  to help others suffering in the hope that one day the suffering will end. Any amount you can give will be great fully received. Thanks.
