Walk 31 Miles in May 2026

My lovely Mum Jan

In June 2024, we sadly lost my wonderful mum, Jan, after a heartbreaking two-year battle following an epileptic seizure that caused delirium and dementia-related symptoms. Watching someone you love slowly change is incredibly difficult, but through it all, Mum remained the warm, happy, and jolly person we all knew and loved.
Jan loved the simple joys in life — shopping channels, laughter, and most of all, spending precious time with her family. She had a kind heart and brought happiness to those around her. Seeing her struggle was devastating, and it opened our eyes to the huge impact dementia has not only on those living with it, but also on the families who care for them.
That is why I am raising money for Dementia UK — to help raise awareness and support families facing the same journey. The work they do provides vital advice, comfort, and specialist support to people affected by dementia when they need it most.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help make a difference in memory of my mum, Jan. Thank you for your support, kindness, and for helping us honour her memory while supporting such an important cause.
