I'm walking 30 miles in September

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

My Updates

Tough Thursday

Thursday 11th Sep
Started off my day with the dentist and a filling, had a long and busy day at work, left work late after working back the time I took for the dentist, then did a Tesco run to buy groceries for my cheese and wine event on Friday night, then cooked the food for Friday night and only then did I have the time to venture out for the mile which was done in the drizzle and in the dark 🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🚶🚶

Wearisome Wednesday

Wednesday 10th Sep
If it wasn't for me walk buddy might not have got olut to do or mile. Walked around the burbs of Brackley 🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻

Day 9 - Tough Tuesday

Tuesday 9th Sep
The mile a day is becoming second nature now and I just factor it in. Did a pilates class at the end of the day followed by a show mile round the village. 🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻

Day 8 - The Real Challenge

Monday 8th Sep
After a hectic day at work the last thing one wants to do is walk a mile but the only way to do it is as fast as possible and in the dark if necessary and that is what I have done. Didn't stop to smell the roses but just DID IT ... !!!!

Day 7 - A London torment !!!

Sunday 7th Sep
Started my mile in Hyde Park which was great and then everything went pear shaped. Industrial action in the underground coupled with demonstrations closed the boys routes and closed 3/4 of the tube lines. Was a struggle to find my way back to Marylebone Station to get the train back to Banbury. So did far more than a mile of blood, sweat and tears !!!

Day 6 - London

Saturday 6th Sep
Did my day 6 mile in London. Walked from Whitehall to Covent Garden and the vibe was incredible. London is a city that never sleeps 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻

Day 5 - Ightam Mote

Friday 5th Sep
Very easy to do a mile .. Think I did 5 miles walking around the garden and wandering the insides of this beautiful National Trust Property which has a history spanning 700 years.

Manor Park Day 4

Thursday 4th Sep
Took the opportunity to do the playground at Manor Park, West Malling and then my mile through this beautiful park.

Day 3

Wednesday 3rd Sep
School drop off ... Half an hour to wait for reception to open so used the playground to do my mile. 11 laps = 1 mile. Just goes to show that there is always an opportunity 🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻🚶🏻

Day 2
