Walking for Dementia UK!

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be most grateful for your support for this critical cause - many of us have, had or will have family and friend affected - a truly awful disease for the sufferer and for their families and friends to witness and support

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

60 miles ☑️

Tuesday 30th Sep
Completed! 60 miles and I feel a lot better for it! Thank you so much to everyone for your support and generosity - all funds will go towards supporting families impacted by dementia and in research to stop dementias in the first place.

9 days….

Monday 22nd Sep
When you do a busy desk job, and worse when you work from home it’s so easy to not realise how few steps you’re doing in a day! So lovely out there this morning and it’s a great start to the working day - have realised you have to start where you are - however far away from your ideal level of fitness that might be!

Half way through September!

Sunday 14th Sep
Today is the 14th and we are nearly half way through September! And I am near on-track for my 60 miles target and have covered 25 miles in walks!  The weather is getting very autumnal now and dark at nights so morning walks have become my routine. I’m seeing a lot more of nature and the changes taking place out there! Just a couple of weeks now and I’ll be taking part London Bridges walk too!
Monday 8th Sep
Went on lovely walks around Stowe gardens and Wrest Park this weekend . So nice out there in the sunshine and great for mental health too! it’s so important to keep getting outside, staying physically active and talking with others -I’ve found that working from home full time has lots of pluses but also comes with challenges in keeping yourself fit and social!

Early morning walking

Wednesday 3rd Sep
It’s been getting dark so early so have been doing my daily walks before breakfast - and it really helps start the day well (even though I need to push myself out the door ha!)  it was drizzly today but nice and fresh and the trees and plants look like they love it!

Getting ready!

Sunday 31st Aug
Am getting ready to track my walking and complete this challenge (and more) for Dementia UK.  Please follow my progress and please consider supporting this charity if you can.
