Walk 31 Miles in May 2026

Join the Facebook group for Walk 31 miles in May challenge.

I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK

This May, I'm walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

My Updates

Day 27 - 6 miles to go

Thursday 28th May
Started the final miles by walking to the station. And finished the 100 miles somewhere pounding the streets of London. Thank you to Jenny who donated and got me across the target line! Thank you JENNY! 💕💕💕

Day 26 4 miles

Wednesday 27th May
6 to go. My challenge is nearly over however those who suffer from dementia continue with their daily frustrations.
Watching some one you love suffer from this terrible disease is heartbreaking. Filling your mind with the good times and being in the present with them gets you through! 💕💕💕💕💕
Please donate if you haven’t already. Support that  families need is hard to find particularly in our area, each penny goes toward Admiral nurses and help families really need.
THANK YOU

Walk at school which only ended up 0.5 with Year ones to mark walk to school week and the benefits of walking on wellbeing and the environment.
3 mile evening walk

Day21 - 6 miles

Friday 22nd May
3  mile walk and 3 mile run .

Day 20- 3miles

Wednesday 20th May
Starting to feel like Groundhog Day……….. 👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣

Day 19- 3 miles added

Wednesday 20th May
Only 36 miles to go!

Day 18 - 3.60 miles walked

Monday 18th May
Pleasant evening. Bit of a noisy walk but needed to change the route.

Day17- canny 5.3 miles

Sunday 17th May
Walk out on my own. Enjoyed the sunshine!

Day 16- Watch bother!

Saturday 16th May
Alerts constant and vibrating watch saying low HR. Driving me insane! Switching off walk and adding , trying to stop alerts. Torture! Anyway looks bitty but 4.75 miles today. Walked from my house to where my mam is in respite. Lovely walk and visit. 💕

Day 15 -Getting into routine

Friday 15th May
Getting into routine of allowing an hour to walk  3 miles. Some nights are harder to commit to than others but getting the job done.

Day14- 3miles walked.

Thursday 14th May
Getting near to the halfway mark . Will be on target with a few longer walks at the  weekend

Day 13 3 miles

Wednesday 13th May
Today’s not a good day. Managed to walk to the pub and back for a much needed drink. So this is my miles today. 😔 Forgot to charge watch so only logged the first part. So only claiming 3 miles.

Day 12 4 miles

Wednesday 13th May
Little extension to make up for lost miles last week.

Day 11- 3 miles banked.

Monday 11th May
Only £32 off target! Much better miles since Saturday. Need to get a couple of big walks in to  make sure I hit target

10/05/26 2nd walk of the day

Sunday 10th May
Late walk to make up for the lack of miles Thursday and Friday.

Day 1o - 5.5 miles

Sunday 10th May
Added bit more to make up for two days of no extra walks!

Day 9 -Week 1 fail!

Saturday 9th May
3 miles banked today.
Not even going to go into detail, no excuses. To get to 100 miles, didn’t get to my target this week.  Never mind. Onward and upward.

Day 6- Cheeky doubler

Wednesday 6th May
As I ve pledged to do 100 miles in May, I ve done a cheeky doubler tonight. Working full time and being so busy after work,  getting more than 3 miles , is tricky.
So, as short on time, I ran 3 miles. Had tea and then walked it off with a 3 mile walk.

Day 5 - A cold 3 miler

Tuesday 5th May
Need a bath to warm up!  Didn’t feel like a Spring walk!

Day 4- Ice cream stop off!

Monday 4th May
Canny walk . Sunny then cloudy but weather kind. Even stopped off for an ice cream despite the grey clouds heading our way. It didn’t rain though, so enjoyed 5 minutes on a bench, enjoying every mouthful of the amaretto cherry cone. 🍒🍦

Rainy 3 miles today

Sunday 3rd May
What a difference a day makes. Cold and rainy 3 miler. Bank holidays drinks earned.

Day2

Saturday 2nd May
Mam s in respite care. Busy sorting out. I m always walking and I m making sure the walks I do in May are extra to what I normally would do. So, my walks are getting quite late, very busy. 2 miles doesn’t seem a lot however squeezing that in to my day, is special. That’s my time, for my mam!💕 Optimistic, that we can make a difference! Times have changed since my nana had dementia, we need to keep moving forward.

First walk banked.

Friday 1st May
Late walk . 3 miles done. 97 to go! I ve chosen to walk 100 miles in May.
