I'm walking 62 Miles in October for Dementia UK

Hi there,

As most of you know my lovely dad Tom lost his 7 year battle with vascular dementia on 29th August last month aged 92.  I'm taking part in Walk 62 Miles in October 2026 to raise money for Dementia UK. We have an amazing Admiral Nurse in our lives and she’s been a life line at difficult times.

By supporting my challenge, you can offer a lifeline to more families living with dementia. A donation of just £10 could cover the telephone costs of two people calling Dementia UK’s Helpline for expert, compassionate support from a specialist dementia nurse.

Thank you so much.

I just want to say I’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of my friends donating to this cause. It means the world to be able to do this in the name of my dad Tom. The money you’ve donated will mean more families will get the support they need and won’t feel so isolated. The best thing about this funding for admiral nurses is their connection to Poppy Scotland/Royal British Legion as the Admiral Nurses can support people world wide, basically wherever there is a British base, no matter whether it’s full service or the very brave soldiers who did their National service many years ago. They and their families will get support to navigate this cruel disease.
