I'm running 100K for Dementia UK
This February, I'm running 100K and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

Running 100km in February for Dementia — In Memory of My Wonderful Bampa
Friday 16th JanThis February, I’m setting myself a challenge: to run 100 kilometres in 28 days honouring someone who meant the world to me — my wonderful Bampa.
Dementia is a cruel illness. It doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed; it touches everyone who loves them. It slowly takes away memories, words, routines, and moments that once felt permanent. Watching someone you adore change in ways you can’t stop is heartbreaking and so unfair.
My Bampa was many things: kind, caring, calm, and endlessly supportive. He was someone who made you feel safe just by being there. The memories I have of him, his ways, his presence, the way he made people feel — are ones I hold close and always will. Dementia may take pieces away, but it can never erase the love that was shared.
By fundraising throughout this challenge, I hope to support vital dementia research, care, and support services. These funds help families who are navigating confusion and loss, and they help drive progress toward better treatments and, one day, a cure.
If you choose to donate, share, or cheer me on, please know that it truly means the world. You’re not just supporting me — you’re helping keep memories alive, support families in need, and honour people like my Bampa, who deserve dignity, care, and compassion.
Thank you for reading, for supporting, and for remembering.
This one’s for you, Bampa. ❤️
