Walking for mam ♥️
Friday 30th Jan My mam was diagnosed with vascular dementia when I was just 14. For a long time before that, we were fighting to be taken seriously. She was so young that services didn’t want to look into it, it often felt like nobody believed what we were living through behind closed doors.Dementia UK believed us. They didn’t judge us. They listened, supported us, and treated us like we mattered. They didn’t make us feel like we were overreacting or “too young” to be facing something like this. They accepted us! They even invited us into their events and community, which meant more than I can put into words.
