I'm walking 60 Miles in June for Dementia UK

This June, I'm walking 60 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

My reason for taking part challenge 💙

Thursday 28th May

Dementia has become deeply personal for me. A close family member has recently been diagnosed, and watching someone you love face this disease is something you can never truly prepare for. It changes routines, relationships, and realities — not just for the person diagnosed, but for everyone who loves them.

I’ve also seen friends lose their own family members to dementia. Their stories, their grief, and their resilience have shown me just how many lives this disease touches. It’s everywhere, quietly affecting families who are doing their best to cope, care, and carry on.

Last month, my mum completed the 30 Miles in May challenge in honour of our loved one. Seeing her determination inspired me to step up and do my part too. So this June, I’m committing to 60 miles — one mile for every moment of confusion, every memory slipping away, every family trying to stay strong.

I’m doing this to raise awareness, to support vital research, and to stand with everyone affected by dementia. Every donation, no matter the size, helps fund support, breakthroughs, and hope.

If you’re able to support me, thank you. If you’re cheering from the sidelines, thank you. And if dementia has touched your life too, I’m walking these miles for you as well.
