Walk 30 Miles in September 2026

I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK

This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

30 Miles in 30 Days for My Wee Granny Gibson ❤️

Tuesday 1st Sep

On 28th April 2025, we sadly lost my wee Granny Gibson.

Losing someone you love is never easy, but when dementia has been part of their story, there are so many different emotions, memories and difficult moments along the way. I have countless memories with my granny that I will treasure forever, most of which feature going for walks, from going to the huggy with her and my cousins when I was wee, to her going early walks to find a paper and get a coffee when we used to go away on holiday together, and the miles we'd walk when going away in Europe to watch Celtic play.

That’s why I’ve decided to take on Dementia UK’s 30 Miles in 30 Days challenge, walking 30 miles throughout the month to raise money for a charity that does such important work supporting families affected by dementia.

Why Dementia UK?

Dementia doesn't just affect the person living with it. It affects families, partners, friends and everyone around them.

Dementia UK provides specialist support to families through their Admiral Nurses, offering expert advice, practical support and a listening ear when people need it most. Having that kind of support can make such a difference during what can be an incredibly difficult and confusing time.

By taking part in this challenge, I want to do something positive in memory of my granny and help other families who may be going through the same journey.

30 miles for Granny Gibson

Thirty miles might not sound like a huge distance, but every step will have a little bit of meaning behind it.

I'll be thinking about my granny, remembering the good times, and hopefully raising some money along the way to help Dementia UK continue supporting people affected by dementia.

Most importantly, I want to keep my granny's memory alive and turn something incredibly sad into something positive.

If you can spare even a few pounds, I'd be incredibly grateful for your support. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Dementia UK continue the amazing work they do.

And if you can't donate, simply sharing my fundraising page would mean just as much.

So here's to 30 miles in 30 days, every step for my wee Granny Gibson. ❤️ forever loved, forever missed. You'll Never Walk Alone.

Thank you for supporting me and helping me raise money in her memory. ❤️
