I'm walking 30 miles in September

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Walking 30 miles in September for Dementia

Wow ! I have made it 😊 I am pleased to tell you that I have walked 53 miles in September !!!

Thank you so much to those who sponsored me
I really do appreciate it & I know that the families who are having to care  for a loved one will definitely appreciate it xx

I have now walked over 30 miles

Tuesday 23rd Sep
Pleased to say that yesterday on my birthday 🎂 I managed to crack the 30 mile target yay !
I was lucky to receive so many birthday wishes & cards/flowers  💐 & had a lovely day
I did however have a sad moment…… knowing that my Dad didn’t know it was my birthday…..he doesn’t even know who I am  ☹️ because of dementia
Please help us beat this terrible disease by donating , even if it’s a small amount ……
The money raised this time , helps the carers who see their loved ones go through the horrible difficult stages of dementia. Support is so important . Thank you xx

First week of challenge complete

Monday 8th Sep
That’s my first week done 😊 Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! I really do appreciate it!
10 miles walked so far 😊 Every step I take I think of my Dad , who is at the end of life stage of Dementia . He’s been at this stage for 3 years now……bedridden, unable to feed himself  needing full nursing care.
Sadly he doesn’t know me but is able to smile, say a few words ( they don’t  always make sense)
Sadly my memories of him without dementia are fading, it is difficult to remember him as the man he was , before this cruel disease took hold many years ago
One thing I have learnt from this disease is enjoy life now & make memories, lots of them!  X

Beating Dementia, helping support the families

Monday 1st Sep
So here I am again 😊 raising funds for Dementia Uk
My lovely Dad continues to suffer from this cruel disease & my family suffers too
This time the money that I raise will help the families. Support that is needed & not always there.
I am using this opportunity to up my fitness levels, as I have been suffering with a painful ankle since March. A mile a day is the perfect way to build my strength !
If you can donate, that would be amazing, thank you x
