I'm walking 62 Miles in October

My father in law has suffered from Parkinson’s for the last 18 years of his life, developing the disease at a young age. A few months ago he started to develop new symptoms which are leading the doctors to believe he has Parkinson’s Dementia. Whilst he can have his ups, he also has his downs and this had led to him being in a care home, which for his age is unusual.

He has been an inspiration to all that know him, he’s loving, kind and would do anything he could for his family. It’s so tough for us having to be away from him, but he is receiving great care and gets regular visits.

As some of you may know, my knee hasn’t been right for the last few months, (so I’ll be taking it steady!!) but I want to get through these 62 miles and raise something to give back to Dementia UK.

A £10 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!
