Each Step Makes A Difference
Nova and her humans will be participating in the October Dog Walking Challenge 2025 for Dementia UK. We will walk 75 miles for this charity close to our hearts as we have sadly lost family members to this syndrome and know first hand what it is like to experience a loved one whose brain functioning slowly declines. It not only erases a lifetime of memories but who they are; taking the most independent, caring, kind, selfless relative to a shell of their former self. It’s not only a loss to the family but a loss of self identity.

Every Penny Counts
Tuesday 2nd Sep £1 donation to Dementia UK is a small but meaningful contribution towards vital services when pooled.
How many miles is the challenge?
Tuesday 2nd Sep The challenge set by Dementia UK is to walk 75 miles in the month of October with your dog. However, anyone thinking of joining the challenge can set themselves any milestone for their fundraising campaign.
How your donation will help
Tuesday 2nd SepDonations to Dementia UK have a direct impact because they fund the charity’s specialist dementia nurses and support services for families. Here’s how they help:
- Admiral Nurses 👩⚕️ – Donations fund these specialist dementia nurses who provide life-changing advice, guidance, and practical support to families affected by dementia.
- Helpline & Clinics 📞 – Money supports the free, national Dementia Helpline and virtual clinics, giving families access to expert help when they need it most.
- Training & Education 🎓 – Donations help train more nurses, ensuring more families across the UK can access specialist dementia care.
- Awareness & Resources 📚 – Funds go towards creating resources, guides, and campaigns that raise awareness and help families understand and cope with dementia.
- Expanding Reach 🌍 – Every donation helps the charity reach more people, especially in communities where specialist dementia care is hard to access.
In short, donations ensure families facing dementia don’t feel alone—they can access expert care and emotional support.
