I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK

This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

I DID IT!! I walked a total of 53.85 miles in January (not incl daily steps).
 THANKYOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS. Every little will go towards helping families who are managing with a loved one with Dementia. 
My mum has been in my thoughts all day and my final walk of January was in a group meet up around The Forest of Dean Sculpture trail. It was great to be in the woods as we used to take mum for walks in Badbury Clump. Her name Sylvia means woman of the woods!
 We used to also do alot of walks with my dad in the woods as kids. I miss them both sooo much. 
This walking challenge has really helped me get out of my December slump and depression of grief and other life stresses. I'm definitely going to keep it up and I can't wait for spring time! Thanks for all the love and support ❤️ 🌳🚶‍♀️🥾

I have received my fundraising raising pack today and I will update with my total miles so far soon! Thanks for all your donations. Greatly appreciated. I have to keep raising my target which is amazing!

Walk 3!

Friday 9th Jan
I dec8ded to stick to the road route as it rained so much yesterday. I walked from Downend to St.Werburghs in an hour and 12 minutes! May not seem like alot to some but I have been really fatigued recently and struggling  to even get off the sofa!

First walk after work!

Tuesday 6th Jan
Not much but it was freezing and I fought of the need to get into my PJ'S! I walked the route I took with mum when I last took her to Park Road Christmas lights in 2023. She loved it! Miss you mum!
