I'm walking 62 Miles in October

I’m walking 62 Miles in October and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

An £10 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Down to my last 9 miles!

Wednesday 15th Oct
I’m delighted to share that I’m on the homeward stretch and down to my last nine miles of my sixty two mile commitment.
I honestly can’t thank everyone who has supported me enough.
Today was a particularly special day for donations as every penny raised was matched by a very generous donor.
Thank you everyone.

Thank You!

Thank you to all whom have kindly donated so far and have sent words of encouragement.
I sincerely appreciate this.

If you haven't yet got round to this....What are you waiting for? haha.
My donation target has almost been met, but please do not feel this is a limit. the more donations the more support can be given to those in need.

Thank you , Thank you, Thank you.

Is a 2 mile a day walk for one month even that difficult?

Thursday 11th Sep
I guess it depends on who's asking and if they know me.....
For the past few years, my days are mostly spent driving to and from work and averaging about 2000 steps per day. this equates to about a mile, that sometimes includes a couple of short walks with my dog as well!

So yes, I believe by upping this to around 4-5000 steps a day minimum in order to cover just two miles a day will be somewhat of a challenge for me haha.
Apart from going the "extra mile" everyday for someone close to my heart, Its seldom that I have felt able to take the opportunity to do the same for causes that mean something to me and others I care about.

Dementia care in some capacity has been my career for over 30 years.
My career has enabled me to live a good life and raise a beautiful family. For this I feel fortunate and blessed.
I am now in a new chapter of my life where family, friends and colleagues  are experiencing the affects of dementia first hand and to be honest, its a little scary.
With this in mind I want to do something, that means something, to someone. If that someone is you or someone you know or love, then even better!
I hope you will support me in my upcoming challenge this October and I thank you in advance for reading this to the end.
Isaac.
