I'm walking 62 Miles in October
I’m walking 62 Miles in October and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.
An £10 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.
Thank you!

My Dad
Friday 3rd Oct Unfortunately my father has been suffering from Dementia for several years now and has reached the stage where he sits in a care home looking at the TV. I don't say watching because I don't think he could tell you anything about what's on. He has lost most of his physical mobility because his mind has resigned itself to a sedentary life. This was a 6ft 4in gregarious man who had hardly been ill a day in his life who has been inexorably eroded by this terrible disease to his current condition - and the decline continues. It sounds brutal but the reality is that my dad is passing away one day at a time and we cant help him. Generally he is calm but occasionally he gets frustrated with his inability to remember things, including the words to express himself. Tragically I am sure that the calmness is partly resignation and capitulation to his condition because over the years it has knocked the fight out of him.Thank you to my Sponsors
