I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dad

This May, I’m walking 31 miles for Dementia UK — for my dad, my hero, my legend.

He’s still here, but dementia has taken so much of him already. And honestly… it just sucks. There’s no other way to put it. Watching someone who meant everything to you slowly change, piece by piece, is heartbreaking in a way I never knew existed. You grieve them while they’re still alive, and that’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

My dad has always been my hero. Strong, funny, someone I looked up to my whole life. Dementia doesn’t just affect the person — it takes from the whole family, the memories, the moments, the future you thought you’d have.

That’s why I’m doing this.

At the same time, I’m also skipping for 15 minutes every day throughout May to raise money for cancer research — in honour of my Auntie Pam, who is still fighting, and in memory of my Auntie Jack, who we lost. Cancer and dementia have both hit my family hard, and I couldn’t ignore that.

Turning 40 made me realise how important it is to give something back and do something that actually matters. This is for my dad, for my aunties, and for every family going through this kind of pain.

If you can donate — to this page or my cancer fundraiser — I’d be truly grateful. And if you can’t, please share. It all helps.

Thank you for reading, and for supporting me. It means more than I can put into words.
