I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK
This May, I'm walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
My mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in April 2024, and on Mother’s Day 2025 she became very unwell- a factor that led to a rapid decline in her condition. This was very distressing and things became very difficult for our family as we struggled to care for her and cope with the terrible symptoms of this awful disease. We made the inevitable and difficult decision to move her into specialist residential care towards the end of last year and visit her regularly.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Friday 29th MayA huge thank you to everyone who sponsored us on our 31 Miles in May challenge- Billy, Lucy and I walked the whole 31 miles together, and Eddie joined us for most walks despite being busy revising and taking GCSEs! We are thrilled to have raised over £800 for Dementia UK who help to support families who care for those afflicted with various types of dementia.
We did this in honour of my mum who has advanced Alzheimer’s and now lives in 24 hour care. We visited this week- she is now much more settled and is being so well looked after, her carers are lovely people. It finally feels like there’s a little light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, both on this challenge and over the last difficult 18 months. It is very much appreciated ❤️
