I'm taking on Fans vs Dementia
During the course of 90 minutes, 30 people in the UK will develop dementia.
I’m taking on Fans vs Dementia and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.
£19 could pay for the telephone costs of five families calling our free Helpline whenever they need support.
£33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.
Thank you!

Dementia
Thursday 5th FebDementia is not just a medical condition. It’s a life-changing journey that affects millions of people and the families who love them.
For those living with dementia, everyday moments—remembering a name, finding the right word, recognising a familiar face—can become overwhelming challenges. For carers and families, dementia brings emotional strain, exhaustion, and heartbreak, often behind closed doors.
That’s why we are fundraising.
The Reality of Dementia
Dementia affects memory, thinking, and behaviour, but its impact goes far beyond the individual. Families watch loved ones change in ways they never expected. Carers often give up jobs, sleep, and parts of their own wellbeing to provide constant support.
Despite how common dementia is, it remains underfunded, misunderstood, and under-talked about.
Why Your Support Matters
Funds raised go towards:
- Vital research to better understand dementia and work towards effective treatments
- Support services for people living with dementia and their carers
- Education and awareness to reduce stigma and help communities respond with compassion
Every donation—no matter the size—helps improve quality of life today and brings us closer to breakthroughs for tomorrow.
Why This Cause Is Personal
Dementia has touched so many of us personally: a parent, grandparent, partner, friend, or neighbour. Many of us know the feeling of loss that comes even while someone is still physically present.
By fundraising, we’re saying: you are not alone, and your life still matters.
