March Dog Walking Challenge

I'm walking 62K with my dog for Dementia UK

This March, Craig and I will be walking 62K with our dog, Murphy, and raising funds for Dementia UK. Craig's Dad bravely fought Alzheimer's disease with grace and dignity but sadly lost his battle in September. We believe that families should not have to deal with dementia alone and that more support and advice should be available for families.

This is why we are taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

7km!

Saturday 22nd Mar
We walked almost 5km today from Langland Bay to Caswell Bay and it was a beautiful spring day with the sun shining. We stopped at Caswell for a coffee before walking back. Murphy was getting very tired towards the end but it was our longest walk yet. We even took a walk around the block this evening for another 2km!

Cold Walk on the Beach

Monday 17th Mar
It was a cold, windy walk on the beach this evening but another 1.91km walked.

A Walk Along the Beach

Friday 14th Mar
We walked along the beachfront this evening and had a lovely view of the sun setting. Another 2.1km added to our total.

Mumbles

Wednesday 12th Mar
We had a lovely walk in Mumbles this evening. It was cold but dry and we clocked up another 3.97km towards our target.

Wet Monday

Monday 10th Mar
Today was wet, cold and dark and none of us fancied the walk but we managed to clock up another 2km taking our total to 16.4km.

sunny Sunday walk

Sunday 9th Mar
The sun was out for us today when we took a walk to Upper Lliw Reservoir.

Day 3

Thursday 6th Mar
It was a very wet walk around Brynmill Park this evening. Murphy was not happy but we clocked up another 2km.

Day 2

Wednesday 5th Mar
We clocked up another 2km walking along Swansea bay promenade just before the sun set. Another sunny walk. Murphy needed some encouragement as he was tired out after daycare.

Challenge Started

Tuesday 4th Mar
We started the challenge today with a little 2km walk along the coast in Rhossili in the sunshine.
