I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK
This May, I'm walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

31 Miles for Mum: Walking for Dementia Awareness, Answers, and Hope
Saturday 2nd MayIn May, myself, my dad, and Andy will be walking 31 miles in memory of my mum, who sadly passed away in January this year after living with early onset dementia.
This challenge is deeply personal to us. Mum was taken far too young, and her journey was one filled with uncertainty, heartbreak, and far too many unanswered questions. It took us a very long time to receive a diagnosis, and by the time we finally had answers, it was already too late.
The road to understanding what was happening to Mum was long and incredibly difficult. We fought hard to be heard, to seek help, and to find out what was wrong. No family should have to face such a battle while also watching someone they love slip away.
That is why we are taking on this walk — not only to honour Mum’s memory, but to raise awareness of dementia, especially early onset dementia, and to support others who may be going through the same painful journey.
If our efforts can help even one family receive better care, quicker answers, or the support they deserve, then every mile will be worth it.
This walk is our way of turning grief into purpose. We want to shine a light on the realities of dementia and help make a difference for those affected by it.
If I have ever supported a charity before, or I once helped a cause close to your heart, I ask you to consider supporting ours now. Every donation, no matter the size, helps raise awareness and brings us closer to making a meaningful impact.
Please help us spread the word, support our goal, share this post and walk with us in spirit as we do this for Mum — and for every family facing dementia.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us make a difference. 💜
