I'm walking 30 miles in September

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Day 1 of my Walk 30 miles in September challenge. I'd had a busy day at work, so the majority of my walk was later evening. I'd actually forgotten how beautiful Lossiemouth is during sunset. I completed 5.59 miles, not bad for my first real physical activity after major surgery. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to my fundraiser.

Walking 30 Miles This September for a Cause Close to My Heart

Wednesday 20th Aug

This September, I’m taking on a personal challenge to walk 30 miles to fundraise for Dementia UK. This isn’t just about putting one foot in front of the other; it's about supporting a cause that means a great deal to me and to so many others.

Dementia UK is a charity that provides specialist dementia support to families through its Admiral Nurses. These nurses are a lifeline for people affected by dementia, offering expert guidance and practical solutions. Having seen the impact of dementia on families, I know how crucial this support is.

My challenge will involve walking 30 miles throughout the month of September. Whether it's a brisk morning walk, a long hike on the weekend, or simply a stroll to the shops, every mile will bring me closer to my fundraising goal. It’s a way for me to honor the resilience of those living with dementia and the tireless efforts of their caregivers.

I'm aiming to raise £300 to help Dementia UK continue their incredible work. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a tangible difference. It could help provide a helpline call with a specialist nurse, offer a home visit, or simply give a family the support they need to navigate a difficult journey.

If you can, please consider supporting my challenge by donating through my fundraising page. Your generosity will not only motivate me to keep going but will also directly help families facing dementia.

Thank you for your support. Let's walk this journey together, one mile at a time.
