I'm walking 100 miles in September
I’m walking 100 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.
An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.
Thank you!

I'd definitely like to know who the random people are who go into Grandma's locked house and move things!
Friday 19th Sep Well, another crazy funny conversation with Grandma yesterday. Two lots of her door keys have disappeared in the space of 1 day but Grandma hasn't moved them and doesn't know where they are so someone else has done it. Though both doors are locked, the gate is bolted from the inside and no one apart from me has a front door key 🤔🧐 Hopefully they will magically reappear in the next few days.
I thought so 🧐
Sunday 7th Sep As I posted previously, I wondered who my grandma would say had painted her nails. Apparently, according to my mum who saw her yesterday, she was under the impression that she had painted them herself but was saying she should have painted them better because the colour was all chipping off. My auntie, who was also there yesterday, advised her that the colour that was on her nails was clear with colourful glitter in it so it's not chipped off it's meant to be that way 🤗 Bless her. Share

Little treats to make Grandma smile
Friday 5th Sep I don't think anyone tells you how wrenching it is to realise how much it changes a person when they have dementia. They are no longer the person they used to be. They forget how to do simple things like washing, cleaning their teeth or remembering where they have put their teeth, or just being able to make themselves a cup of tea or a sandwich. But our family are supporting my Grandma with this every day between us and even though it's taking it's toll on us, sometimes doing little things like giving Grandma a 'treat' of moisturising, filing and painting her nails pretty colours the way she used to have them whilst I was growing up, makes her smile and made me happy. So little things are really big things in the end 😀

My father, who I care for, was diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment around 5 years ago, which unfortunately progressed to Dementia. It’s difficult for people to understand unless they too have experienced this with family / friends. Chris Viragh
