I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK

This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Why I'm Walking 30 Miles This September for Dementia UK

Sunday 2nd Aug
When someone you love is diagnosed with dementia, life changes in an instant.

Recently, my Dad was diagnosed with mixed dementia. Although we knew something wasn't quite right, hearing those words out loud was heartbreaking. It's the kind of news that leaves you feeling helpless. You wish you could fix it, take it away, or turn back time... but you can't.

What you can do is make the most of the time you have together, create new memories, hold on to the old ones, and support the people who are helping families through one of the hardest journeys they'll ever face.

That's why this September I'm walking 30 miles in 30 days to raise money for Dementia UK.

This challenge isn't about setting records or proving anything. It's about doing something meaningful for a cause that has become incredibly important to me and my family. Every mile I walk is for my Dad, for the memories we've shared, and for every family living with the reality of dementia.

Watching someone you love change is incredibly difficult. Dementia doesn't just affect the person diagnosed, it affects everyone who loves them. It brings fear, uncertainty and sadness, but it also reminds you to treasure the little moments, the conversations, the smiles and the days that feel like a gift.

Dementia UK's specialist Admiral Nurses provide expert advice, practical support and reassurance to families when they need it most. Knowing that support is there can make such a difference during an incredibly difficult time.

If you're able to support my challenge with a donation, I'd be so grateful. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help Dementia UK continue supporting families like mine.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can give. Every step I take this September is for my Dad.
