I'm walking 30 miles in September

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Walk 30 miles in Sept 25 to remember Mum- Mavis Popplewell

Wednesday 20th Aug
Hi everyone! As you will know I lost my Mum on 3rd August after a  5 year battle with mixed dementia at the age of 91. Grateful Mum never forgot who I was but losing the shared memories of a life together was hard. We relived some great times  when her memory cleared for a short window 💕but also darker days when Mum had to move to a care home and became more frail. Mum never complained, never lost her fight and showed me her true strength. So I am walking in September to get me out of the house, come up for air and use the time to gratefully reflect on her life and hopefully raise  money for Dementia UK to support other families going through this difficult journey. I am also separately supporting Alzheimer’s Research programme going forward as hopefully one day we will find the medical answers to tackle this condition  which is touching everyone’s lives in some way or another. Thank you for your support 🩷
