We’re walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK

Why we’re walking 💜

Dementia has affected so many families, and unfortunately, ours is one of them.

In 2019, we lost our grandma to dementia. Then, just five years later, our mum was also diagnosed with dementia.

Living so closely with dementia and seeing first-hand the impact it can have, not only on the person diagnosed but on the people who love and care for them, is incredibly difficult. It’s also shown us just how important it is for families like ours to have access to the right support, advice and specialist dementia nurses when they need it.

So this September, we’re walking 60 miles between us (30 individually) to raise money for Dementia UK, helping them continue to support families affected by dementia and raising awareness of a cause that has become incredibly close to our hearts.

We’re hoping to raise £250, and any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean so much to us and will help Dementia UK continue to be there for families like ours.

This September, we’re walking 30 miles for Dementia UK 💜

Dementia is a cause incredibly close to our hearts. In 2019, we lost our grandma to dementia and, five years later, our mum was also diagnosed.

Experiencing dementia so closely as a family has shown us just how much it affects not only the person diagnosed, but everyone who loves and cares for them too. It’s also shown us how important the right support can be for families navigating something they never imagined they’d have to.

So throughout September, the two of us will be walking 60 miles between us (30 individually) to raise money for Dementia UK and help support other families affected by dementia.

We’ve set ourselves a goal of £250 and would be so grateful for any donations, no matter how big or small. And if you’re not able to donate, sharing our fundraiser would mean just as much. 💜
