We are running 100K for Dementia UK

This February, me and Ben are taking on a challenge that means more to us than we can put into words: running 100km to raise money for Dementia UK.

Dementia isn’t just something we have heard about from afar — it’s woven into our family’s story. My Nan lives with dementia and Bens grandma also had dementia and watching someone you love slowly change in ways you can’t control is heartbreaking in a way you never quite prepare for. So together we’ve seen how deeply it affects not just the person diagnosed, but everyone who loves them.

That’s why this challenge feels so close to our heart. It’s a way to honour them both, to channel the sadness into something hopeful, and to support the specialist nurses who make all the difference! 

Every step we take in February we will be thinking not only of my Nan and Bens grandma but also my grandad, our families and friends who are having to deal with with this illness first hand and seeing their loved ones deteriorate everyday!
