I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK

This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

I’m taking on 60 miles this September to raise money and help make sure that no family faces dementia alone. 💙🚶🏼‍♀️

The photo above is of me and my amazing Grandad Bob, but I’m also walking every one of these miles for my Dad. Two of the most amazing men in my life, and two very special reasons to keep putting one foot in front of the other. 💙

My original target was 30 miles, but because I walk most days, I had a feeling I might reach that fairly easily… so I thought, why not double it?! 

And today was a brilliant reminder that this challenge isn’t always going to be easy — because today was definitely rain 😂🌧️ But wind, rain or shine, I’ll keep going.

Dementia affects so many lives. In the UK, around 1 million people are living with dementia, and behind every person diagnosed is a family, friend or carer who can also need support.

That’s why every donation, no matter how big or small, can make such a difference. £33 could fund a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse for an hour, helping a family in the community with practical advice, emotional support and guidance when they need it most. 💙

I’m incredibly lucky to have my Grandad and Dad in my life, and although I’m walking these miles for them, I’m also walking for everyone who is living with dementia, caring for someone with dementia, or has lost someone they love to it.
