I'm walking 62K with Delta for Dementia UK
This March, I'm walking 62K with my dog, Delta and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Unfortunately, I lost both my Grandparents in 2018 within 6 months of each other to this awful disease. My Nan, Irene, had vascular dementia for around 9 years, it was distressing seeing this strong minded woman deteriorate in front of me. She taught me how to bake & sew and all the other ‘Nan things’ it was truly heartbreaking, watching these everyday tasks slip away from her. My Grandad, Alan, was also thought to have dementia but unfortunately passed before the Dementia testing appointment, he was a very quiet but happy man, always smiling and always wanted to make you smile!
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Wednesday 19th Feb Went on a practice walk with Delta to see how we would get on. Absolutely smashed 2.7km & could have gone further, but time was getting on & the evening was starting to draw in. But we now know we’ve got this in the bag!! Bring on the challenge! 🙌🏽 Share
