I'm walking 62 Miles in October

I’m walking 62 Miles in October and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

An £10 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

My Gramp who had dementia

Wednesday 24th Sep

This year, I’ve set out on a journey that means more to me than I can ever put into words: raising money in memory of my beloved grandad. He was more than just a grandfather—he was a constant source of love, wisdom, and comfort in my life. Watching him live with dementia was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced, but it also taught me the power of patience, compassion, and cherishing every small moment together.

I had the privilege of caring for my grandad during his illness. Some days were challenging, of course, but they were also filled with laughter, tender memories, and deep love. Caring for him allowed me to give back just a fraction of the care he’d shown me my whole life. It’s a bond I’ll carry with me forever.

Now, I want to honor his memory by raising money to support dementia research and care services. Too many families go through the heartbreak of seeing someone they love slowly slip away, and it’s vital that we continue to fund support for carers, invest in better treatments, and—one day—find a cure.

Every donation, no matter the size, will go towards making a difference for families living with dementia. It’s not just about the money—it’s about hope, awareness, and honoring the people, like my grandad, who deserved so much more time.

If you’re able to support, I’d be forever grateful. And if you can’t donate, simply sharing this cause helps keep his memory alive and spreads the message further.

For my grandad, for your loved ones, and for every family touched by dementia—thank you. ❤️
