I'm walking 62K with my dog for Dementia UK

This March, I'm walking 62K with my dog and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

I will look with my head high 💪🏻

Friday 21st Feb
As I lace up my walking shoes this march , I  will be feeling  a mix of excitement and purpose. This walk is not just about covering miles; it's about raising awareness and funds for Dementia UK, an organization dedicated to supporting those affected by dementia. Dementia is a progressive condition that affects millions of people, leading to memory loss, cognitive decline, and changes in behavior. The emotional toll it takes on families and caregivers is immense, making the work of organizations like Dementia UK essential in providing support, resources, and guidance.

Each step I take during this walk symbolizes solidarity with those living with dementia and their loved ones. It's a chance to honor the stories of individuals who have faced this challenge, to remember those we've lost, and to advocate for better care and understanding of the condition. The funds raised through this event will go directly towards providing vital services, such as the Admiral Nurse service, which offers expert advice and support to families navigating the complexities of dementia care.

As I walk, I am reminded that every contribution matters, no matter how small. Whether it's through donations, sharing personal stories, or simply participating in events like this, we can all play a role in making a difference. Together, we can help create a world where those affected by dementia receive the care and support they deserve. So, let’s take those steps together, raising awareness, fostering understanding, and supporting Dementia UK in their mission to improve the lives of those impacted by dementia.
