62 miles
Wednesday 1st OctThis month, I’ve set myself the goal of running 2 miles every single day. On days when life gets in the way, I’ll double up to make sure I stay on track – so by the end of the month, I’ll have covered the total 62 miles. (100km in the month)
I’m doing this to raise awareness and funds for Dementia UK, a cause that’s close to my family’s hearts.
Sadly, many of my own relatives (4 so far with 2 undergoing testing ) on my mum’s side of the family have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and dementia. These conditions affect not just the person living with them, but everyone around them – and the need for better support, research, and hope has never been greater.
Dementia is one of the fastest-growing health challenges of our time. More research is urgently needed to help us understand it, find better treatments, prevent it where possible, and one day, find a cure.
I’m so grateful for any support you can give – whether that’s a donation, sharing this page, or simply cheering me on. Every mile I run is in honour of all the families touched by dementia, and every step brings us closer to a future with more answers and more hope. 💙
