I'm cycling 300 miles for Dementia UK
This June, I'm cycling 300 miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

For Uschi
Tuesday 27th MayHey there! I know I said I wouldn’t be doing sponsored whatevers anymore, but this one feels really personal. The profile picture is of Peter and Uschi. I only met them last year through Claudia (it’s her uncle and aunt from Hanover). When I met them, Uschi was already struggling with Dementia, and Peter was her main carer. In the short time I’ve known them, I’ve seen Uschi’s condition get worse and worse. Peter is doing everything he can to make her as comfortable as possible, even putting his own health at risk. At the end of last year, Uschi went into residential care. The last time I saw her was in August of last year, until last week when we went to visit them both. The change was quite significant, and it really hit me hard. You never truly understand until you see it up close. So, this is my way of helping. By doing something I love for someone I care about so much, I hope it can make a difference. If you can see a way to help, please let me know.
