Ali now joins me with a new bike!

Saturday 22nd Aug It really is so humbling, since taking up the cycle challenge, I have come across so many wonderful people. And so, I’ve continued to keep cycling, mainly because donations are still coming in. With that in mind, Ali has now joined me on regular cycle rides, and just yesterday, we purchased a lovely secondhand cycle, the family were quite wonderful, they changed the pedals and they even give us a free bottle holder and tyre inner tube. With gusto this morning, ali got ready and we have already completed 12 miles! She is well on her way of doing the 50 mile challenge on her new racer! I could not be more proud of her, currently she is slow and steady, but I guess that’s what wins the race! Thank you, everyone for your Support!!  Share

Bob & Manny evening walks

Thursday 13th Aug What a spectacular summer we are having, quite a few evenings each week Bob and I go for a lovely walk around the Stoneygate area of Leicester, I’ve now learnt to know what to do to make Bob giggle and laugh. It’s always about sharing my personal memories of family members. This really seems to bring a degree of astonishment but also, from time to time, Bob reminisces as well. Yesterday, we did a beautiful walk and watched the Sun being eclipsed. Bob said he’s so much appreciated my company, he doesn’t know that I am his baby brother, but that doesn’t really matter. I gave him a clean shave, and whilst he didn’t recognise himself in the mirror, he did say he really enjoyed it, as well as putting some cream on his feet. May I also say, when I leave Bob now at the residential care home, I put on the radio and listen to smooth FM, invariably a song will be played on the radio that brings me to tears. Well last night, it was Adele, The song being played “ Someone like you! Boy, did I ball my eyes out! Anyway, I remembered how much Bob enjoyed cycling in Kenya, so when I got home, I got on my bike and had a lovely late evening cycle! I guess I still hold faith in knowing that Bob is unaware that his dear wife Uma is very poorly. it really is so hard for Bob’s family right now, thank goodness his two children have stepped up to the plate, and have really got on with it.
