Walk 30 Miles in September 2026

I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK

This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Hi everyone, thanks for visiting and hopefully donating!

I've decided to do this as I have some time off due to adverse circumstances - no pulling levers for me, for a while at least.

So I may as well try and rally for a good cause.  So then... Dementia UK, 30 miles in 30 days of September.  I suspect that DmUK's intention was a little walk, a mile or so on a daily basis, do a little good while getting some fresh air ho ho ho.

And then there's me. Those who know me know I walk _fast_ and that I _march_ several miles at a time just for the sheer sake of it. It's my relax, it's my reset, it's my mentally-file-everything-into-place time, undisturbed.  In short, I walk like a possessed Commander Samuel Vimes along the cobbles (and trollsheads, and clay stones, and paving, and bricks...) of Ankh-Morpork. (Sir Terry Pratchett Discworld.)

So this should be a definitive win.  And may as well put the energy into doing something positive no?

Thanks for all your support. 30 miles for £375 - but there's a good chance there'll be more mileage if I really get going so....

Cheers

Doug
