I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK
This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

💜 I did it! 💜
Sunday 1st FebI’m so proud to have completed this challenge in support of Dementia UK, an incredible charity that helps families facing dementia every single day. This one really means a lot to me, and I’m grateful for everyone who supported, encouraged, donated, or walked alongside me (in person or in spirit 💕).
Every step was for love, awareness, and better support for families who need it most. Thank you for being part of the journey 💙

Almost there!
Thursday 22nd JanI’m so pleased to share that I’ve now walked 44½ miles of my 50-mile challenge! 🎉
Thanks to your incredible kindness and encouragement, I’ve also reached £215 of my fundraising target so far. Every mile and every donation means so much to me and helps support Dementia UK’s vital work.
I’m nearly there now — thank you all for cheering me on and supporting this journey 💙
Thank you!
Sunday 11th JanI’m so grateful for all the support so far — thanks to your kindness I’ve already raised over 50% of my target, plus an incredible £38 in Gift Aid!
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and shared their support. If anyone would still like to give, any amount at all, no matter how small, would be hugely appreciated and really does make a difference.
Half Way There!!
Saturday 10th JanI’ve now walked 23.9 miles towards my 50-mile target! 👟
That’s almost the length of a full marathon, and even longer than swimming the English Channel (about 21 miles).
I’m nearly halfway there and every step counts — if you’d like to support me, please donate here:

Today’s Update
Tuesday 6th Jan4.2 miles done today! Crisp, fresh air and a lovely walk—every step counts for my fundraising journey.
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.
🚶♀️ Update from the (slightly out of breath) Walk-50-Miles-in-January Crew! 🚶♀️
Monday 5th JanSo… I’ve officially walked 13.5 miles of my 50-mile challenge so far! That’s the equivalent of trekking from my front door to Doncaster (without getting distracted by charity shops — mostly 😅).
But seriously — every step matters. I’m walking to raise funds for Dementia UK, a charity that does incredible work supporting families affected by dementia with specialist Admiral Nurses who provide practical, emotional and clinical support when it’s needed most.
If you can, please donate a few ££ to cheer me on — whether it’s the cost of a cheeky coffee or something bigger, it all adds up and makes a huge difference to families living with dementia.

Thank you for your support — and wish me luck on the next 36.5 miles!
In Loving Memory.
Saturday 27th DecI’m doing this in loving memory of my dad, Harry Wood 💙
Dementia is a cause that’s very close to my heart. Watching someone you love live with it is incredibly hard, and it changes not only their life but the lives of everyone around them. My dad meant the world to me, and this is my way of honouring him and keeping his memory alive by helping others who are going through something similar.
I’ve wanted to do something for charity for a long time, but if I’m honest, confidence has always held me back. This is very much me stepping outside my comfort zone — but I know it’s for the right reason, and I know my dad would be proud.
If my efforts can help even one person with dementia feel more supported, more understood, or less alone, then it will all be worth it. Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to read this, donate, or share — your kindness truly means more than I can say.
We believe in you, mum!
Saturday 27th DecThose who know my mum will know she’s one of the kindest, most selfless people you could meet. For a long time now she’s talked about wanting to do something meaningful for charity, especially to support people living with dementia — a cause that truly matters to her.
The only thing that’s ever held her back is confidence. She’s not someone who shouts about herself or asks for support easily, but her heart has always been in the right place. So I decided to take it upon myself to set this page up for her and give her that little push she needed — because I know how much this means to her, and I know how proud we’ll all be seeing her do this.
She’s stepping outside her comfort zone to raise money that will help people with dementia communicate, connect, and feel heard. Even the smallest donation can make a real difference, and your support would mean the world to her (and to me).
Thank you so much for reading, sharing, donating, or simply cheering her on. Let’s help her turn this quiet wish into something truly special 💙
