I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK
This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

Walking with purpose
Thursday 1st JanSome walks are about fitness. Some are about fresh air. This one is about something much bigger.
I’m walking to raise money for a dementia charity because dementia doesn’t just affect individuals — it changes entire families, friendships, and futures. Nearly all of us know someone who has been touched by this condition: a grandparent who slowly forgets familiar faces, a parent who struggles with everyday moments, or a loved one whose personality seems to fade before our eyes.
Dementia is cruel in the way it steals memories, independence, and confidence. But what makes it even harder is knowing how many people face it without enough support, resources, or hope. That’s why this walk matters to me.
Every step I take represents:
A memory someone is fighting to hold onto
A family member learning how to cope and care
A researcher searching for better treatments and, one day, a cure
Some days, the walk is tough. My legs get tired, the distance feels long, and motivation dips. But then I remember why I started. I think of those who can no longer walk independently. Those who can’t remember where they are going, or why. Suddenly, the tiredness feels small in comparison.
Thank you for supporting me, supporting this cause, and walking alongside me in spirit. Together, we can make a difference — one step at a time.
