I'm walking 30 miles in September

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Thank you Dementia UK for the challenge. And thank you to everyone who has supported me ♥️🙏

Monday 29th Sep
Day 29. After doing the 5 mile recci yesterday we donned our trainers and gently jogged 2 x 2 miles down the Barri prom in 🇮🇹 in the morning sunshine, the ocean on our right and the big city on our left.
Tomorrow being the last day of the challenge, I feel the need to carry on having a created a habit I don’t want to break. 🏃‍♀️

Day 20 & 21. Adulting!

Sunday 21st Sep
Day 20 & 21. A mile a day for Dementia UK.
Due to adulting I was unable to get out for day 20’s run so I did 2 miles + on day 21.
I’m disappointed that I’ve broken my daily consistency, however I’m still on track with milage & determination.

Day 19. To me that would be cheating.

Friday 19th Sep
Day 18. A mile a day for Dementia UK.
It’s a hot FriYAY. 19 miles completed completed in 19 days. Loving the challenge. I could include the 2-4 daily miles walking my beautiful dogs but to me that would be cheating.

Day 18. Thursday legs.

Thursday 18th Sep
Day 18. A mile a day for Dementia UK.
Thursday legs. Very heavy legs, slow & steady got the mile done 💪🏃‍♀️

Day 17. All in a days work.

Wednesday 17th Sep
Day 17. A mile a day for Dementia UK.
Squished a run in on the treadmill between classes. It’s all in a days work. 🏃‍♀️👟👟

Day 16. This is becoming a habit.

Tuesday 16th Sep
Day 16. A mile a day for Dementia UK.
This is becoming a habit, and a good habit to have. Had a nice 3 mile warm up walk with my 🐕‍🦺🦮 before my daily mile. What’s not to l♥️ve.

Day 15. Half way 🏃‍♀️

Monday 15th Sep
Day 15. A mile a day for Dementia UK.
Busy day. Bootcamp, a mile on the road. Dog walk. Love it 💕

Day 14. Slow and steady on a Sunday evening.

Sunday 14th Sep
Day 14. A mile a day for Dementia UK.
Slow & steady on a soggy Sunday evening. Not doing a mile a day is not an option so at the 11th hour, jumped on the treadmill. 🏃‍♀️job done ✅

Day 13. Unlucky for some.

Saturday 13th Sep
Day 13. A mile a day for Dementia UK.
13: unlucky for some but not for me. Blessed with so much support & kindness. Enjoying the challenge. Double crewed this morning……………. Day 14….. bring it on 🏃‍♀️

Day 12. Friday body.

Friday 12th Sep
Day 12. A mile a day for Dementia UK.
Friday body today but still back in the road got my mile and another donation. Thank you 🙏.
Loving the challenge. I wonder if i’l carry on into October 🤔💕

Day 11. Running is not my go to……..

Thursday 11th Sep
Day 11. A mile a day for Dementia UK. Back on the treadmill today. Running isn’t my go to firm of training but there’s the challenge right there. 🏃‍♀️

Day 10. On the road again.

Wednesday 10th Sep
Day 10. A mile a day for Dementia UK.
On the road again despite the rain, was quite refreshing actually.
A huge thank you to all those who are keeping me going. 🏃‍♀️👟🌧️💪💕

Day 9. Discipline gets things done.

Tuesday 9th Sep
Day 9. A mile a day for Dementia UK.
Busy day  today.  Just finished work  (8pm).
Dark & raining outside so another mile on the treadmill. Commitment & discipline gets things done.
🏃‍♀️

Day 8. Make time

Monday 8th Sep
Day 8. A mile a day for Dementia UK.
A stressful & busy day today. Had to use the treadmill. Did the mile before I went back to work. Haven’t got time? Make time!

Day 7. Funday Sunday.

Sunday 7th Sep
Single crewed again today. Day 7 in the bag. Running isn’t my first choice of exercise but enjoying the challenge and sticking  to the commitment I made. We’ve had all seasons today, grabbed a dry spell at 20 degrees and did my mile. It’s a funday Sunday. ♥️

Day 6. Up an at em 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Saturday 6th Sep
Double crewed today. Up an at em before the day begins. Feeling good, feeling fine. Gotta make the time.

Day 5. Going the extra mile

Friday 5th Sep
Day 5. Going the extra mile.
The nature of my job sees me on my feet all day, I have two dogs who I walk a couple of times a day for an hour or so. Regular gym/training sessions, but for me, that doesn’t count, that’s every day stuff. I’m  going the extra mile and that’s my Dementia UK challenge. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Day 4. A mile a day for Dementia UK, gets us fit in a great way.

Thursday 4th Sep
Dodged the rain today. Prefer to be outside than on the treadmill but it’s there if needed. Enjoying the discipline of the commitment made to the challenge.

Day 3. Come rain or shine, we make the time.

Wednesday 3rd Sep
Day 3.  After a couple of hours work & a workout and with a gap in the weather I took to the road single crewed today. Wearing my T shirt with pride and thinking of everyone taking part in the challenge and supporting the sufferers and the careers.
Just a tip, the body doesn’t perform at its best with biscuits on board! 😂🤦‍♀️

Day 2. Expect the unexpected

Tuesday 2nd Sep
Day 2. Up an at em before the rain came and before work. Today I was overwhelmed by my lovely ladies who donated over 300 more pounds to my challenge and to Dementia UK. Unexpected and overwhelmed by their support and love. 💕

Day 1. Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Monday 1st Sep
We committed to the 30 mile + challenge, might run more, will definitely not run less.
Grabbed the an opportunity to go out & run, 2 minutes later, started hammering it down. We had committed to it, it’s a mile a day, we finished day one.
