I'm doing Winter Reading Challenge for Dementia UK
This winter, I'm reading and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

4th Book !!
Thursday 5th Nov
A real tearjerker
Saturday 31st Oct Just finished my third book - The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah . I have read a couple of her books before and enjoyed them and this did not disappoint. If you want a fun lighthearted book this is not for you . It is brilliantly written and gritty.
Finished my second book !
Friday 23rd Oct “Thank you Jeeves” by PG Woodhouse was my choice as a bit of light relief . Having read a few of these before I knew I would enjoy it and that it would be an easy read . It didn’t disappoint. I always picture Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry when I am reading these . It is definitely of its time , having been written in 1934 but it was fun. Share
Finished my first book!
Thursday 15th Oct “Us” by David Nicholls was a great way to start my challenge . I decided not to write a daily blog or keep a log but I did and will read every day for the rest of the autumn and winter . So, my plan is to blog after every book I finish .
My first book !
Monday 12th Oct
My mother-in-law
Saturday 10th Oct Shirley was an active , intelligent lady in her 80’s when she suffered a stroke and then developed dementia . Like Dad , she became dependent on others and was not the lady that she had been . So many are affected by Dementia , we need to do what we can to help.
First , choose a book !
Friday 9th Oct I get very excited when I have finished a book and am then able to select a new one. I try to change genres with each book and having just read a Harlan Coben thriller. I think I’m going to go for something a little more lighthearted. Perusing my book shelves is something I never get bored of. I have settled on a David Nichols book called “ Us”. I’ll let you know how I get on! ShareThank you to my Sponsors
