I'm walking 60 Miles in June for Dementia UK

This June, I'm walking 60 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

My Updates

I did it ❤️

Tuesday 30th Jun
So that's it... I did it.

I've officially completed my 60 Miles for Dementia challenge.

I honestly can't thank everyone enough for the incredible support you've shown me over the past month. Whether you donated, cheered me on, sent words of encouragement, or simply followed my journey, every bit of it meant more than you'll ever know.

This is the first time I've put myself out there so openly for a charity challenge, and I wasn't sure what to expect. What I found was kindness, generosity and support from so many amazing people, and for that I'll always be grateful.

This cause is incredibly close to both my heart and my family's. Dementia has touched our lives, as it has so many others, which made every mile feel like it had a purpose. As I walked, I found myself reflecting on precious memories with loved ones, remembering moments that still make me smile, while also creating new memories that I'll treasure for years to come. This challenge has been about so much more than simply walking 60 miles.

And I couldn't have imagined a more perfect way to finish than with my little best mate by my side, splashing through the rain together. I hope that one day he'll look back and remember nothing more than the joy of running around outside with his mum.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your generosity has helped raise money for an incredible cause, and your belief in me has carried me every step of the way.

I'm incredibly proud to have completed this challenge, and even prouder to have done it surrounded by such wonderful people. Thank you. 💙

£250 smashed !!

Tuesday 9th Jun

Today, I was completely blown away by the generosity shown by family, friends, and even the families of friends. I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to every single person who has donated.

Your kindness and support not only help Dementia UK continue the incredible work they do for those affected by dementia, but they have also reminded me just how fortunate I am to be surrounded by such a wonderful support network.

Knowing that so many people have chosen to stand behind this cause means more to me than I can put into words. I am deeply grateful for your encouragement, your generosity, and your belief in what we're trying to achieve together.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. ❤️

Monday motivation

Monday 8th Jun
I often struggle to find motivation, but this challenge has given me something positive to work towards every single day. It's become more than just a goal—it's a daily reminder of why I'm doing this and who I'm doing it for.

One of the best parts has been the encouragement from everyone around me. I love when people ask how it's going, check in on my progress, and cheer me on along the way. Knowing that every step is helping to raise awareness and support such an important cause makes it all feel worthwhile.

Thank you to everyone who's following my journey, supporting me, and helping me stay motivated. It truly means so much. ❤️

Sunday thoughts

Sunday 7th Jun
I know plenty of people with dogs, or who lead very active lives, for whom 60 miles in a month is no great challenge. But this isn't really about the miles. It's about walking, remembering, and raising awareness.

As I've been doing these walks, I've found myself reflecting on so many moments from my life. I think about the walks when my son was little, and the days when my partner and I first moved to the area, spending hours exploring new paths and places together. Sometimes I'll find myself wandering through fields and suddenly be transported back to my childhood, remembering the adventures I had as a girl - usually while trying not to get chased by farmers!

These memories are precious. They help tell the story of who we are and the lives we've lived. Dementia can steal those memories, and I can't begin to imagine what it must be like to lose such an important part of yourself.

That's why this cause matters so much. Every donation helps support families whose mums, dads, grandparents, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, and friends have been affected by dementia. Together, we can help provide support, care, and hope for those facing this heartbreaking condition.

Hey there 🤗
