I'm cycling 300 miles for Dementia UK

🎉Fund Matched by Card Factory up to £2,500🎉

This June, I'm cycling 300 miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Challenge Complete!

Monday 30th Jun

Wednesday 25th June

Thursday 26th Jun
On this day I took a modest 28 mile round trip to Inverurie marking the 4th notable town visited during the month.

This was again a day blessed with glorious weather and was a different type of ride being mostly road based.

Not as many photos from this trip due to being on the road most of the time but I have uploaded a few to the gallery to show off the lovely weather!
Nearing the end of the month, not long till I hit my mileage target!

Thanks once more to everyone who has checked out my fundraiser, please do consider donating if you haven't already, I'm so close to the donation goal!

Week 3 Update

Tuesday 24th Jun

Wednesday 18th June

Friday 20th Jun
On this day I took the challenge to cycle all the way to Stonehaven and back, passing through Portlethen and Chapelton along the coastal route. Google warned of steep hills and it wasn't wrong with it being a brutal all round 48mile trip but I managed in the end!

I took a pitstop at a lovely café called Brae at Chapelton, in Chapelton on the way into Stonehaven, highly recommend! I then finished off with a lovely fish dish once I made it into Stonehaven at an amazing inn called the Ship Inn which never disappoints.

As always I'll post the few pics from my trip into the gallery and thanks once again to everyone who has checked out my fundraiser!

Not long left to go!

Week 2 Update

Sunday 15th Jun
Half way there and more than on track to finish the 300 miles!

🎉 Exciting News – Card Factory is Fund Matching Donations! 🎉

Thursday 12th Jun
I’m incredibly honoured and thrilled to share that my employer, Card Factory (through the Card Factory Foundation), has generously offered to match all donations made to my fundraiser—up to an amazing £2,500!

This means that every pound you give will now go twice as far, doubling the impact of your generosity and bringing us even closer to the goal.

I’m so grateful to Card Factory for supporting this cause and for standing behind their employees in such a meaningful way. Their kindness and encouragement genuinely mean the world, and I can’t thank them enough.

So if you've been thinking of donating—there's no better time than now! Every contribution, big or small, is now worth double.

A big thank you to everyone has already decided to donate!

Wednesday 11th June

Thursday 12th Jun
On this day I did a long cycle from Aberdeen over to Banchory with a slight detour to Drum Castle. This was the longest round trip that I've ever done at 46 miles total.
The weather was once again glorious which was complete luck but very welcome!
Will upload the photos from the trip to the gallery.

Week 1 Update

Sunday 8th Jun
So far so good and on track to smash 300 miles!

Wednesday 4th June

Friday 6th Jun
As I work 5 days a week and round trip to work is around 7 miles, I'll be using my day off on Wednesday to make up for the missing miles during the week.

Last Wednesday I took a 33 mile round trip to the lovely town of Ellon passing through Udny Station. The weather was beautiful and stopped at the "Coffee Apothecary" in Ellon for my mid-trip coffee and lunch. Highly recommend anyone to visit if they're ever in Ellon as both the coffee and food was amazing.

Pictures will be posted in the gallery and I will update with my next journey next week!

Thanks again to everyone who has already donated, I really appreciate it!

And so it begins!

Sunday 1st Jun
The 1st of June is here so time to get started with the challenge.

Because the tracker started ticking when I set up the link with Strava I've started June with 49 miles. So to keep to the target of 300 for June I'll be aiming for a total of 350 miles tracked before the end of this month!

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far and to anyone else who decides to in the future!
