31 Miles in May for Dementia UK

This May, I have been taking part in 31 Miles in May to raise money for Dementia UK, helping ensure that no family faces dementia alone.

I’m super late sharing my fundraising link this year, as I spent the beginning of May visiting family, which also reminded me even more why this cause means so much to me personally.

I have seen the significant impact dementia has on individuals and families, both through my work and in my own family life. This challenge is especially in honour of my mum and sister, who care so faithfully for my dad. Seeing the love, patience, sacrifice and resilience involved in caring for someone with dementia has given me an even deeper appreciation for the support families need every single day.

This year I’ve decided to RUN the miles. While I love walking, I really do not enjoy running! But for me, these fundraisers are about more than simply completing a challenge. They are also about sacrifice, perseverance and stepping outside my comfort zone for a cause that matters.

Dementia UK’s specialist Admiral Nurses provide practical advice, emotional support and guidance to families facing incredibly difficult circumstances. Donations really do make a difference. For example, £33 could help fund an hour of support from a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse for a family in need.

Any donation, no matter how small, would be hugely appreciated and will help support the incredible work of Dementia UK.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and for any support you are able to give.
