I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK
This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

My why!
Wednesday 26th AugSeptember is going to be a very special month for me. I have decided to take on a challenge of walking 30 miles throughout September to raise money for Dementia UK, in memory of my wonderful nan, Elma Fotheringham, who sadly passed away in July 2026.
My nan was such an important part of my life, and losing her has been incredibly difficult. There are so many memories, little moments and things about her that I will carry with me forever. 💜
I wanted to do something meaningful in her memory — something that would honour her life while also helping other families who are living with the challenges that dementia can bring.
So, throughout September, I will be putting one foot in front of the other and walking 30 miles. Some days might be easier than others, but knowing that every mile is being walked in memory of my nan will keep me going.
This challenge isn't just about the distance. It's about remembering Elma, celebrating the life she lived, and turning my grief into something positive that can hopefully make a difference to others.
Dementia UK does incredible work supporting people living with dementia and their families, and I would love to raise as much as possible for this important cause.
If you are able to donate, any amount would mean the absolute world to me. Even a small donation can help, and if you're unable to donate, simply sharing my fundraiser or supporting me along the way would mean just as much. 💜
I know there will be moments during those 30 miles when I'll think of my nan, and I'm sure there will be tears as well as smiles. But I hope that with every mile, I'll feel a little closer to her.
This one is for you, Nan. 🕊️💜
30 miles. One month. One very special reason.
For Elma.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in my heart. 💜
