Cycle 300 Miles in June

I'm cycling 300 miles for Dementia UK

This June, I'm cycling 300 miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Saturday 28th of June 2025: nice little 11 mile ride this morning before my swim at Jesus Green Lido. So that completes 300 miles done in the month of June for Dementia UK. Once again, thank you so much to all of you who supported me before I even put foot to pedal. For those of you who were waiting to see if I could do it, and would like to contribute see link below.  Only if you want to, there’s no pressure.

I cycled 300 miles to raise funds for Dementia UK to support people affected by dementia.

A donation of just £19 could pay for the cost of five families calling its Helpline, and I'd be so grateful if you could support me:

Thanks so much.

Friday 27th of June 2025: 40 miles cycling today completing 290 miles, but actually I’m well over 300 miles with all the short journeys I haven’t included over the month. Today was another ride into Fenland, like yesterday, but this time to St Ives, and then to little villages around.

I was away for a week in mid June in the Algarve but have since been cycling almost every day about 20 miles on cycle routes around Cambridge. Today was a lovely 31 mile ride to Wicken Fen wildlife centre. I’m now up to 250 miles so almost there in reaching the target of 300 miles before the end of June.

Another lovely ride this morning 24 miles from Cambridge to Fulbourn then along the old Roman Road then across the M11 to a bridleway I haven’t done before and through Great Abingworth than Babraham and then along the path by the river back to Cambridge got a puncture on the way on the guided busway route. So total now is 102 miles

I had a glorious bike ride with a friend from Cambridge to London: to Ware via Barkway and then along the River Lea valley to Stoke Newington.   Then train back from King’s Cross. 68 miles in all.

Cambridge to London on Sunday 1st June 2025

Saturday 17th May
Kicking off with a bike ride from Cambridge to London. Start off along  the guided busway, then the B1368 via Barkway, then to Ware, then follow the path along the  river Lea in to London. It’s a lovely ride, no cars along the river Lea.  Will be about 70 miles.
