I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK

This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

It’s been tougher than I thought because I’ve had yet another lung infection and my breathing is still not back to normal. 
However I have now reached 44 miles! 6 to go.

 I don’t count my small walks to the shops, I just count my significant walks such as walking instead of taking the bus for school runs etc…

Walking /Fundraising/Research

Walking has been my go to exercise since having Fibromyalgia, sometimes I can walk far  (for me) and sometimes barely at all, but this past year has been extra challenging as my walking was cut significantly due to my on-going back problems and then Covid which left me very breathless for months. I now want to get walking again and what better kick start  and incentive than to raise some money. I’ll update my miles along the way, I’ll have to start slowly and pace myself but I know I can do it! 
Why Dementia Uk? 
Well it popped up as I was scrolling online and thinking about health. It affects so many people nowadays and I saw how it took ahold of my nan in her later years.  I think it’s something that people tend to not talk about very much so I’m going to do some research along the way too!
