Claire, Rhian and Adrian are jogging one mile a day for Dementia UK

This April, Claire, Rhian and Adrian have stepped up to the challenge and are jogging one mile each day and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. 

 Susan is Adrian and Rhians mum and Claire's step mum. She is special to all of us. She is battling Alzheimers and recently went into a care home. It's a cruel disease taking special people away from family a little bit at a time.  Claire also lost a dear friend Andrea to the disease last year. 

We are taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Whatever you can afford is appreciated.

 Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

We did it!!!

Wednesday 30th Apr
So that's a wrap!! 30 days, at least 30 miles covered. Tracker says Claire did 38 miles, and I'd say Rhian and Adrian achieved the same or more. Sore knees and heels were had but we managed to smash the original target which was £250 and so we kept increasing it and you've all done us proud with your support and sponsorship! Thank you xxx

Just over Half Way!

Wednesday 16th Apr
Well it's now the 16th so we are over the half way mark. The running is getting a little easier but not necessarily any more enjoyable! I just don't think I'm a natural runner and Rhian has developed plantar facitus so the only one that seems to be smashing the run is Adrian!

Tomorrow it all starts and hopefully my knees will be kind and let me run rather than walk it as I'd like to get fitter as well as raise money!
