I'm walking 30 miles in September
I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.
My grandad has been diagnosed with dementia and over the past year or so it has been a difficult journey watching the person you love and have always looked up to deteriorate in a number of ways. There are good days and bad days and you cherish all the memories you are still able to create.
An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.
Thank you!

Final walk complete
Sunday 28th Sep Went for my last 3 mile walk yesterday along the seafront. Was such a lovely day, full of sunshine. Enjoyed a quick break with a coffee and treat on the beach before heading back to the start point. So excited to have finished the challenge and raised a brilliant amount of money for dementia 🥳x Share
Last leg but one
Wednesday 24th Sep Completed another 3 mile walk along the seafront in Hove today. Sun came out and after sitting on the computer for a couple of hours it was just the medicine I needed. Only got 3 miles left to complete🥳 Share
Final week of the challenge
Monday 22nd Sep Today I completed another 3 miles along the seafront from Shoreham to lancing . Was so nice to enjoy the sunshine although slight chill in the air today and made an error by not taking a jumper 🤦♀️ 6 miles left and then challenge complete x Share
Quiet reflection
Saturday 20th Sep Today I went for a 3 mile walk from Shoreham to Lancing and back again. The water on the lagoon was still, you could hear the waves and the sailboats on the water were covered in sunshine. The calming environment allowed me to have some quiet reflection to make some choices . Grateful for the appearance of the white feather on the way back. Just 9 miles to go now🥳 Share
Counting down the mileage
Thursday 18th Sep Completed another 2 miles today whilst walking year 6 to and from swimming. Not completed in the fastest time but distance done so now only 12 miles left in order to complete the challenge 👍 Share
End of working week
Friday 12th Sep Today I went for a 3 mile walk along Hove seafront as needed to decompress after work. Walked along the beach to the I360 in the sunshine, wind behind me, waves were immense. Grabbed a coffee then started the walk back against the wind, looked like I’d been dragged through a hedge backwards when I returned to the car🤣should sleep well tonight. 16 miles now complete, 14 to go x Share
8th September
Tuesday 9th Sep Parked at Brighton Marina today and had a lovely walk along the seafront into Brighton listening to a podcast. Treated myself to a coffee and some hot donuts before walking back. Got to keep the energy levels up. Another 3 miles completed🥳 Share
